20 km from San Pedro de Atacama, the Cejar lagoon is located in the middle of the Atacama salt flat, in an environment of great beauty and surrounded by salt crystals. It is characterized by having turquoise waters, and, furthermore, by having a flotation level higher than the Dead Sea due to its high concentration of salt. We continue our journey to the south of the salt flat where we will find two impressive pools of fresh water called Ojos del Salar. Then we will continue our trip until we reach the Tebinquinche lagoon, declared a nature sanctuary by UNESCO, since it is home to Extremophile microorganisms, which are the ones that gave rise to life on Earth.
